ILLINOIS (WEHT) – Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin spoke with Eyewitness News about the impeachment investigation against President Trump.
He says it’s a very serious matter and that Congress will follow the Constitution during the process.
“The Constitution makes it clear. The first stop of the investigation for determination going forward is the U.S. House of Representatives. Those in the Senate need to wait back and see if they report articles of impeachment to us, then we have an important role as jurors literally when it comes to the conviction under the impeachment articles.”
Durbin says right now he doesn’t want to pre-judge and is listening to the evidence as it comes in.
