Illinois set to raise minimum wage

(WEHT)- On January 1st, Illinois will raise the state minimum wage to $9.25 an hour but the minimum wage in Indiana and Kentucky will not change. Illinois is one of 25 states set to raise their state minimum wage in the new year.

Earlier in 2019, a federal effort called the Raise the Wage Act proposed raising the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $15 an hour passed the House of Representatives but failed in the Senate.
