Illinois State Senate passes bill to cap insulin prices

(WEHT) – The Illinois State Senate passed a bill to cap insulin prices in the state.

Opponents of the bill believe the price cap will stop innovation for the drug.

Advocates think it could be the start of a much bigger movement.

The bill limits out-of-pocket expenses for people on state-regulated health insurance plans.

Those on federally regulated plans would still pay the market price.
