IN Workforce Increases, Surpassing National Numbers

Local News

Indiana’s workforce increased last month, keeping the Hoosier unemployment rate lower than national numbers.

This information comes from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Indiana’s February unemployment rate was 4.1%. Nationally it was 4.7%.

Indiana’s labor force increased in February by nearly 8,000 people, now standing at more than 3.3 million.

Indiana gained jobs in manufacturing, trade, transportation, and utilities sectors. But that was partially offset by big losses in the leisure and hospitality sector.
