EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Two Evansville leaders have joined the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Dr. Ronald Rochon, President of USI, and Alfonso Vidal, President of Vidal Plastics, are among 26 new board members.
More than 150 members make up the Indiana Chamber board. They are presidents, CEOs and high-level executives from organizations throughout the Hoosier State.
The incoming directors represent diverse industries, including banking and financial professions, consulting, education, financial planning, the legal field, manufacturing, and health care, among others.
Rochon became the 4th president of USI in 2018 after serving 8 years as provost. His academic and professional career has focused on advocating for educational excellence, access, equity and equality.
In 2013, Vidal started Vidal Plastics, LLC, a certified recycling resin supplier and manufacturing plant.
Vidal is serving as a commissioner on the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Women’s and Minority Business Enterprises State Commission.
New board members were elected to their terms in November.
The Indiana Chamber board plays a crucial role in developing the aspects of the organization’s business advocacy efforts.
All new board members will serve three-year terms through fall 2022.
As previously announced, Fort Wayne attorney Tim Haffner is the new chairman of the Indiana Chamber board of directors. Haffner is a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels. He will serve a one-year term as board chair, through fall 2020.
