Indiana DNR to send money to Wesselman Woods

Local News

INDIANA (WEHT) – Some state money is headed to Evansville to help thin the deer population.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is sending the money to Wesselman Woods.

Wesselmans has scheduled a controlled hunt this fall to decrease the size of the herd in the park.

Neither the DNR nor the city has said how much money will be sent, but a DNR official says the funds will help pay for things like a person to run the hunt, and background checks on the hunters.
