Update: Spencer Co. Coroner’s Office releases name of man killed in crash, cause of death

UPDATE

SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – The Spencer County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man killed in a crash over the weekend.

The coroner says 26-year-old Russell Pentington, of Dale, died from blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen. Toxicology results are pending.

According to Indiana State Police, Pentington left the roadway for an unknown reason, hitting an electrical pole and causing his car to flip over. He was ejected from the vehicle.

The accident happened on Sunday morning around 6:00 on County Road 1200 N, just west of State Road 245 in Lamar.

Several agencies responded to the crash.

ROCKPORT, Ind. (WEHT) – Indiana State Police are working to investigate a crash on State Road 245 in Spencer County.

According to ISP, troopers were asked to help with a fatal crash around 7:15 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 245 and County Road 1200 North.

An ISP reconstructionist executed the reconstruction of the accident, while the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office worked the actual crash.
