Indivisible Evansville holds first rally of the year

Local News

Indivisible Evansville held its first rally of the year on Thursday.

The group called for Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) to support the Democracy Reform Bill and to reopen the government with a continuing resolution to end the shutdown.

Vice Chair of the Vanderburgh County Democrats Edie Hardcastle spoke to the crowd.

The group hopes its message is heard loud and clear.

“What we’re really about is telling Americans democracy is up to them. Everyone has to be engaged, attentive and informed. We want to raise awareness. A new Congressional session is starting, and we hope everybody will engage because it’s up to us to make democracy work,” said resident Karen Reising.

Thursday’s rally was a part of a national day of action among other Indivisible groups.
