DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced a road closure for a pipe replacement project on State Road 56 near Ireland, Indiana.

Beginning on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, INDOT crews will close SR 56 between US 231 and SR 257 in Otwell to replace a drainage culvert.

The actual replacement will be between County Road 600 and CR 550.

This project requires a full closure as crews will be making a full width cut in the pavement to excavate the existing pipe.

This work is expected to take two days, weather permitting.

The closure will begin after school bus traffic has cleared for the morning and will reopen for the afternoon bus schedule.

Local traffic will have access up to the closure, but thru traffic will need to use the detour using SR 257, SR 64 and US 231.

Drivers are asked to slow down and stay alert near crews.
