Investigation into shooting at house party continues

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Police are continuing to investigate a shooting involving three female victims.

Police said they heard the shots Friday night at a house party, while they were speaking with people outside of a home in the 2000 block of North Fifth Ave.

As people began running away, police went inside.

Police said they found three women with gunshot wounds.

All three were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Officers said the shooter or shooters managed to get away.

A handgun was found, police said, but they have not figured out who left it there.

Officers detained 77 people as potential witnesses.

No suspects were identified.
