EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Since 1933, 46 Indiana State Police Troopers have died in the line of duty.

In ceremonies across the state, the names of each of the fallen officers were read aloud.

One event was held in Evansville, where taps was played at the end of the ceremony.

The services are held every year in May to keep the memories of those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to keep Hoosiers safe.

The first ever ISP Memorial Service was held on Memorial Day of 1943 in northern Indiana.
