Indiana State Police say an Oaktown man was caught with illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession on Tuesday night.
Trooper Mitch Wier conducted a traffic stop on Grove St. in Odon after seeing a vehicle traveling in the middle of the road.
During the traffic stop of 36-year-old Charles L. Jones, Jr., Trooper Wier requested assistance from Daviess County Deputy Tyler Ramsey and his K-9 partner, Storm.
An open-air search was conducted around the vehicle and Storm positively identified the presence of drugs in the vehicle – giving officers probable cause to search.
During the search, officers found multiple scales and crystal methamphetamine.
As officers spoke with Jones, two additional baggies of crystal meth and a glass smoking pipe fell from his pant leg.
Officers say Jones was on his way to a residence in Odon to deliver the meth prior to being pulled over.
Jones was transported and lodged in the Daviess County Security Center without incident.
He faces charges of possessing and dealing meth, possessing drug paraphernalia, false informing, and maintaining a common nuisance.
