EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but is it too early?
Main Street in downtown Evansville is decorated with Christmas cheer.
The welcoming arch at the beginning of Main Street is wrapped with garland and has large shiny ornaments hanging from it, high above the street.
Adorned on either side of the arch is two, larger than life, colorful nutcrackers greeting each car as it passes by.
Many storefronts have the glow of Christmas warmth with tiny lights and decorated pine trees at their doorstep.
One store even has jolly ol St. Nick smiling at passers-by in the window.
You will also find a lighted snowflake that is the biggest you’ve ever seen.
Festive Christmas swags hang from light posts along the street that leads to the piece de resistance of the downtown decorations, a 36-foot-tall, 30-foot-wide Norway Spruce that will be a visual delight when the 25,000 lights are turned on Thursday night.
All of the festive decorations have some asking if it is too early to decorate for Christmas.
Eyewitness News’ Kelly Austin asked that very question to some of the people in downtown Evansville Monday.
