Jail sickness investigators find ‘inconclusive’ results

Local News

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- An investigation into what caused nearly 200 inmates at the Henderson County Detention Center to become sick came back inconclusive, according to investigators.

The Green River Health Department says the sickness was not the flu, nor was it caused by the chicken served at the jail. Investigators say they did find bacteria in the coleslaw but not at the levels needed to cause widespread illness.

Jail officials say the symptoms were similar to a stomach virus.
