Shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jasper Police say they responded to a call requesting they investigate a suspicious person observed looking into and possibly making entry into multiple vehicles at the North Ridge Shopping Center.
When officers arrived, they say they located the individual matching that description.
Upon speaking with 29-year-old Sarah Angerer from Jasper, police say Angerer denied the allegations.
Officers say they took a witness statement and reviewed video footage from Walmart, which confirmed that Angerer had entered at least one vehicle on the Walmart parking lot.
Police say Angerer later admitted to entering the vehicle.
Angerer was taken into custody, and is currently lodged at the Dubois County Security Center.
