Jeremy Smith tapped as replacement for retiring Daviess County fire chief

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Daviess County Judge/Executive Al Mattingly announced Monday that Jeremy Smith has been appointed as fire chief.

The decision is pending approval from the fiscal court at its September 5 meeting.

Last week, current Fire Chief Dwane Smeathers announced he’s going to retire at the end of the month after 30 years with the department (10 of those years were spent as fire chief).
