Jim Brinkmeyer elected Evansville City Council president

Evansville City Council had its first meeting of the 2018 on Monday night. by electing a new president. 

Councilmembers elected 6th Ward Councilman Jim Brinkmeyer as 2018 president, and At-Large Councilman Dr. H. Dan Adams as vice president. 

Brinkmeyer says when he came onto council two years ago, he didn’t anticipate this opportunity. But he says he’s excited and going to make the most of it. 

“A little surprised but looking forward to leading this council in 2018,” said Brinkmeyer. “We have a great council, the first two years have been awesome, and I just look forward to working with all eight other members of council.”

2nd Ward Councilwoman Missy Mosby served as president last year but decided to step down.
