DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – An Owensboro teen is arrested for a double murder at a Daviess County party.
The 17-year-old is facing two counts of murder and one count of assault.
Eyewitness News obtained an image of authorities arresting the suspect. This was on Wembley Way, just west of Owensboro.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened during a party at a home on Crisp Road in the Whitesville area.
Two people, 18-year-old Jasper Brown and 16-year-old Amarius Winstead, died.
Authorities are not allowed to release the juvenile’s name due to Kentucky law unless he’s arraigned in circuit court.
The sheriff expects that to happen.
DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a juvenile in connection to the shooting deaths of two teens last weekend.
The 17-year-old juvenile is facing two counts of murder and one count of assault.
Deputies say the juvenile was taken into custody around 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
According to deputies, the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at a home on Crisp Road. They estimate that there were as many as 100 people who attended the party, but most of them fled before deputies arrived.
The Daviess County Coroner identified the two victims as 18-year-old Jasper Brown, of Owensboro, and 16-year-old Amarius Winstead of Owensboro.
Tyler Glover, 19, underwent surgery at a hospital for a gunshot wound.
It’s unclear when or if the juvenile’s identity will be released.
