Kentucky Attorney General, gubernatorial candidate Beshear visits Owensboro to talk jobs

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Andy Beshear returns to the Tri-State, but this time for jobs.

He toured the Plumbers and Pipefitters Apprentice Hall Thursday morning in Owensboro where he talked about his jobs plan.

The plan includes investing in industries that can make the region a world leader such as Agri-Tech and advanced manufacturing.

Beshear says apprenticeship programs can add more skilled workers to the job force.

“Our labor unions, like the one we’re here visiting today, have amazing programs that turn out highly skilled individuals that are not only effective and efficient, but also safe in what they’re doing.”

Beshear also says the state can look for more ways to promote apprenticeship programs to attract more potential workers.
