Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services makes decision on tattooing over scarred tissue

Local News

(WEHT)- The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has decided not to move forward with prohibiting tattooing over scarred tissue.

This comes after more than 600 comments on the issue.

Updated regulations released Tuesday did not include that ban.

New regulations require that tattoo artists have bloodborne pathogen training and update the disinfectant and equipment sterilization process.

Also, an underaged person wanting to get a tattoo must have a parent with them or a notarized statement of consent from parents.
