Kentucky company buys Ruby Concrete, plans to reopen this fall

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) – One of the oldest businesses in Kentucky closed in March, but now it will reopen this fall.

Officials with Wright Concrete based in Pikeville say they purchased Ruby Concrete in Madisonville.

Ruby Concrete started in 1869 as a general store and later sold lumber before transitioning to concrete.

Wright plans to reopen Ruby Concrete on October 1st with 10 to 12 workers.

It hopes to produce brick and mortar at the location.
