Kentucky gubernatorial candidate Andy Beshear announces infrastructure plans

Local News

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky Attorney General and candidate for governor Andy Beshear talks infrastructure in Henderson.

Beshear and running mate Jacqueline Coleman announced their priorities for improving the state’s infrastructure.

It includes getting the new I-69 bridge across the Ohio River built during his first term.

He says agreements with Indiana and funding are needed to get construction started.

“It’s going to take some compromise. But we saw under the last administration in Kentucky an ability to work with an Indiana governor, even from the other party, and get it done. That’s going to be an immediate goal of ours so that we can get that construction work started.”

Other priorities include improving state water systems and expanding rural broadband internet.
