HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Some Kentucky lawmakers want to curb the increase in teenagers using e-cigarettes by making the products more expensive.
A House committee has passed a bill that would add a tax to e-cigarette products. They would also be added to the list of smokable tobacco products, with a tax increase from 15 percent to 25 percent.
If passed, the tax is expected to raise 50 million dollars over the next two fiscal years.
