LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) – A western Kentucky mother who was burned in a home explosion more than a week ago has died.

According to a post on the family’s Facebook page, 41-year-old Angela Young died on Saturday.

Young and her 7-year-old daughter Johana were inside a Grayson County home, near Milwood, when it exploded, according to WHAS.

Authorities said a propane tank at the home had been filled but was apparently low. Young’s family said they detected a smell of gas but were unsure about details of a leak.

WHAS reports fire officials said a mechanical failure started the explosion. 7-year-old Johana has since been released from the hospital.
