Kentucky to get $40 million from two drug settlements

(WEHT) – The Commonwealth of Kentucky secured $40 million from two separate settlements involving a drug company and distributor.

Attorney General Andy Beshear’s office recovered $17 million from Bayer Corp. over claims it misled a woman about risks with its birth control drugs Yasmin and Yaz.

Bayer did not admit liability as part of the deal.

The other case involved $22 million over marketing of Suboxone used in treating opioid dependence.
