Komen Evansville starts fundraising for “More Than Pink” walk

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Susan G. Komen is looking to raise $150,000 in this year’s “More Than Pink” walk.

Komen Evansville has kicked off its fundraising effort and the charity is transitioning away from “Race for the Cure”.

Executive Director Sheila Seiler says the new name highlights everything Komen does, like research, care in the community and advocacy.

“They’ll all have their own special tent where a person can go in, and they’ll do an interactive activity to learn something about our community and breast cancer, and what Komen is doing.”

The “More Than Pink” walk will be held at Eastland Mall on Sunday, September 29th. The Opening Ceremony and Parade of Pink will begin at 9:30 a.m.

You can register for $10 until July 14th.

More information can be found on their website at Komen Evansville.
