KSP: 2 dead after head-on crash

SOUTH CARROLLTON, Ky. (WEHT) – On Monday morning, Kentucky State Police responded to a fatal collision near Davis Circle on US 431.

Authorities said a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Karen Leach, of Greenville, was going northbound on US 431. Authorities said 48-year-old Thomas Simpson, of Central City, was going southbound on US 431 when the vehicle entered the northbound lane for an unknown reason.

The vehicles hit head-on, coming to a rest on the northbound shoulder of the roadway.

Leach was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner’s Office.

Her passenger, 79-year-old Linda Embry, of Greenville, was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She later died, KSP said.

The investigation is ongoing.
