UPDATE: Kentucky State Police say a fourth victim was discovered inside the burned detached building. Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday for three of the victims. An autopsy for the fourth victim has not been scheduled.
OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — Kentucky State Police are investigating after three people were found dead.
Authorities were called to the 5700 block of 62 West in McHenry around 4:30 p.m.
KSP says all three victims appear to have been shot, but the nature of the shooting is unknown.
KSP says the three bodies are two males and one female.
Trooper Corey King says there is also a structure fire on the scene. King says the metal-sided building was fully engulfed when first responders arrived.
“Obviously, the family and the community at large would like to know answers,” said Trooper King. ” Was this exactly a family squabble, or was this something more? At this point, it’s simply unknown. Our detectives are doing everything to process the scene and gather any intel we can get at this point.”
King says investigators will remain on scene throughout the night. He says a backhoe will be brought in tomorrow to remove tin on the building to determine what was inside it.
