A Philpot man faces a number of charges after allegedly being caught with a large amount of meth.
According to Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies, 41-year-old Gary Eldridge was stopped on KY 144 Sunday for a traffic violation.
Deputies say after stopping his motorcycle, Eldridge ran off.
Once authorities caught up with him, they say Eldridge resisted arrest, and assaulted deputies, a KSP trooper–and a K9.
Along with the meth, investigators say Eldridge was also in possession of a large amount of cash.
Eldridge is being charged with three counts of Assault on a Police Officer, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, Driving Under the Influence, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and numerous traffic charges.
After being treated for injuries at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, Eldridge was taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.
