KSP requesting public’s help in cruiser photo competition

The Kentucky State Police want to retain the title for ‘Best Looking Cruiser’ and are asking the public to cast their votes in the American Association of State Troopers annual contest.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky State Police hope to hold onto the title of “Best-Looking Cruiser” — but they need your help.

The American Association of State Troopers is conducting its annual contest for law enforcement agencies across the country.

Last year, KSP edged out Georgia State Patrol for the title with only 600 votes separating the two agencies.

The KSP photo entry for this year features a 2019 Dodge Charger equipped with a V-8 that showcases a 370-horsepower engine.

The cruiser photograph was taken at Churchill Downs by KSP photographer Madison Bonzo.

“It only seemed fitting to showcase this cruiser in the ultimate ‘horse power’ setting – none other than legendary, Churchill Downs,” said Bonzo. “This contest will be a race to the finish, and we are hoping to retain the title in 2019.”

The winning photo will be featured on the 2020 Association of State Troopers wall calendar.

Voting ends July 30.
