MCLEAN COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – A Kentucky State Police Trooper has been injured during a vehicle pursuit in McLean County.

KSP says Trooper Adam Wright tried to stop a vehicle speeding south on US 431 around 2:00 p.m.

Police say as the trooper approached the vehicle, Tony Vanover, 50, of Owensboro, sped off.

During the pursuit, the trooper learned the vehicle was stolen out of Owensboro.

Vanover drove south into Muhlenberg County, then back into McLean County on KY-81.

At times, KSP says speeds reached near 100 miles per hour.

McLean County Sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit to help the trooper.

Tpr. Wright failed to see a sharp curve and crashed into an embankment.

The suspect continued to KY-138 and KY-2110 and deputies were able to box-in the suspect.
