KYTC announces new public information officer for District 2 highways office


MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEHT)The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 Department of Highways office welcomes Keirsten Jaggers to serve as its new public information officer (PIO), effective September 16.

Keith Todd will continue to serve as the information officer for District 1.

She spent 11 years with BRADD as the transportation director, partnering with District 3 to work with state and local officials through the planning process for new highway projects.

Hired in 2001 as the first PIO for the Transportation Cabinet, she set a standard for incident management throughout her tenure during the widening of Interstate 65 from the Tennessee state line to Elizabethtown.

Keirsten was born in Iowa but has spent the majority of her life in Kentucky.

She obtained her Bachelor of Geography and Masters of City and Regional Planning from Western Kentucky University.

Each of Kentucky’s 12 highway districts is assigned a public information officer, charged with handling transportation-related media and public communications, promotional campaigns, special events, educational materials, a district website, and district social media.
