Lawmaker accused of stealing sign says he had permission

(WEHT)- An Indiana lawmaker accused of stealing a yard sign says says he had permission to remove it since it was on private property.

Indiana State Rep. and Warrick County Council candidate, Ron Bacon says the sign was placed on property owned by Jerry Aigner Construction, adding that the sign should not have been there without the owner’s permission.

Aigner, a friend and neighbor of Bacon, says he allows Bacon to police the property since people trespass on it to fish on a nearby pond.

Bacon says the property owners are considering legal action against the person who put the sign there.
