List of High Water road closings for KYTC District 2 counties

KENTUCKY (WEHT) — This is the current list of road closures due to high water, provided by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet – District 2.

Christian County

Bridge Closure – KY 189 at mile point 3 was closed on October 21 for 45 days. A detour route has been set up and signage posted.

U.S. 41 – Guardrail replacement is underway for the U.S. 41 corridor and will continue north until completion. Motorists should expect a lane closure with traffic control and flaggers on site from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hopkins County

KY 112 — mile point 1 to 7
Contractors will perform various safety enhancements to the roadway. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this fall.

U.S. 41A – from mile point 0 to mile point 2
Crews will continue to perform work adjacent to the roadway. Drivers should expect to be occasionally stopped for short periods to allow construction equipment to cross the road. The project will ultimately widen U.S. 41A to five lanes including curb, gutter and sidewalk.

McLean County

U.S. 431 – mile point 1
Crews will continue rehab work on an existing bridge. Work will primarily take place off the road, but drivers should expect an occasional one lane road controlled by flaggers. Motorists should exercise caution and not be distracted by the equipment working very close to the edge of the bridge. This is part of a larger contract to rehab three bridges, and all work is expected to be completed by fall 2020.

Muhlenberg County

U.S. 431 – mile point 28
Builders are removing an existing bridge and reconstructing the roadway on US 431 at the McLean/Muhlenberg County line. Trucks will be entering the roadway as the contractor continues removing the diversion.

Crews will finish concrete rehab and guardrail work on a bridge at the 3 mile marker. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this winter.

Ohio County

Bridge Closure: West Hall Creek Road at mile point 1 will close on Thursday, December 5 for 40 days. A detour route will be set up and signage will be posted.

Union County

Bridge Closure: KY 359 at mile point 6 was closed on October 21 for 80 days. A detour route has been set up and signed.
