Little library opens on city’s east side

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Linconshire neighborhood in Evansville now has a little library.

But you might drive right past it if you don’t know where to look.

These little libraries are becoming popular around the country.

And it’s a great way for neighbors to share stories with each other.

This one here is at the triangle on Bayard Park Drive and Lodge Avenue.

We’re kind of tucked back in the neighborhood near Bosse High School.

On Monday, neighbors dedicated it. Now, anyone can come take a book, take it home, read at your leisure, and you can share your own books here too.

It works simply with neighborhood involvement.

It’s a give and take.

If you look closely it’s designed to match the historic homes here.

The neighborhood president thinks it’s a great addition.

Time and materials were donated.

This comes ahead of the Front Porch Festival in a couple of weeks.

You don’t have to live around here to take advantage of the books. Take one, leave one, and share good stories.
