Local phone repair store sees boost in business

Local News

One local phone repair store gets a boost in business after Apple speaks out on older iPhone models slowing down.

Phone Todd in Henderson says since Apple spoke out on older batteries causing problems for older models of the iPhone, it has seen a jump in customers concerned about their smartphone’s performance and battery life.

Store officials say spending $30 to $60 to replace your battery could add years of continued usage for those older iPhones.

“Since IOS 11 came out, it’s definitely slowed down older phones, it’s hit the 6 and 6 plus pretty hard,” said store manager Candace Parr-Lachnea. “And since Apple came out and admitted to that, a lot of people have been concerned and came in and had us test their batteries. So, we’ve definitely seen that a lot of the older phones about two years old definitely need new batteries.”

Phone Todd says extreme temperatures, like the cold weather currently making its way through the Tri-State, can also damage your smartphone battery.
