Lockdown at Hopkins County Jail extended

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky (WEHT) – Officials say the Hopkins County Jail will remain on lockdown at least through the end of the month.

The lockdown comes after a COVID outbreak was reported among some inmates and staff late last month. The lockdown means visitation, community service and volunteer programs will be suspended through October 1.

Officials say COVID cases have declined but they aren’t taking any chances.
