Madisonville Sureway holds Shoe-Per-Market Sweeps Shopping Spree

Local News

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) – There was a lot of excitement Wednesday morning and it was all for a good cause.

The Sureway store in Madisonville hosted an event made possible by Hopkins County Happy Feet.

The group held a raffle earlier this year, offering a free shopping spree inside the grocery store called the Shoe-Per-Market Sweeps Shopping Spree.

The winner decided to pay-it-forward rather than shop herself, donating the shopping trip to the Salvation Army who took full advantage.

Major Mike Good collected $1,142 in groceries, mostly collecting meat.

Sureway donated some extra money at the end of the morning, bringing the total to $1,250 worth of food going to the Salvation Army.
