King Pipeline and Atmos Energy are continuing their maintenance work on natural gas pipes in the vicinity of Owensboro’s Jack C. Fischer Park.

The companies say that residents in the area, between West Parrish Avenue and Airport Road, may smell the odor of natural gas on Monday and Tuesday.

Authorities say the odor could potentially be very strong, but remind those affected that there is no cause for concern.

Work began on Saturday, and should be completed around noon on Tuesday.
