EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – According to a US District Court criminal complaint, Zlatko Galeatovici was arrested in connection with a debit card skimmer investigation.

Old National Bank alerted the Evansville Police Department and the FBI on Saturday that a person was trying to make multiple ATM withdrawal attempts with various unauthorized cards at the West Franklin St. Old National Bank location.

Police detained Galeatovici as he started to drive out of the ATM lane, according to the criminal complaint.

Police said his vehicle did not display a license plate and the dashboard vehicle identification number (VIN) was concealed.

In his vehicle, police said they saw gift cards secured by a rubber band on the driver’s armrest, and cash and more gift cards on the driver’s side floor and under the driver’s seat.

Police said Galeatovici identified himself as someone else, but he was later identified by fingerprints from a prior visa application.

Galeatovici is being held in Henderson County.

We’re told people who might have been victims will be contacted by the bank.

However, officials encourage everyone to monitor their accounts and to report any issues to the bank.
