The 19-year-old facing charges in the deaths of the Rinehart family of Newburgh is set to appear in court Tuesday in Greene County.
Mason Hartke faces three charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and three charges of reckless homicide.
According to authorities, the crash happened on I-69 in Greene County on November 13 after the Rinehart family hit a deer and pulled off the road. Indiana State Police says Hartke then crashed into the family’s car.
David Rinehart, 46, Ruth Ann Rinehart, 74, and Sophie Rinehart, 17, all died. Josie Rinehart, 18, survived.
According to ISP, Hartke was driving with a blood alcohol content of more than .08 when he crashed into the family’s car.
