EDWARDS COUNTY, Ill. (WEHT) – A man is behind bars after southern Illinois deputies said he led them on a chase at speeds topping 100mph.
The chase happened Sunday afternoon.
A deputy in Edwards County said he clocked Charles Dozier of Decatur going 70mph just south of West Salem.
When the deputy tried to pull Dozier over, he said Dozier led him on a nine-mile chase into Albion.
That is where Dozier crashed.
He was arrested a short time later and charged with several crimes including fleeing police and driving on a suspended license.
