BLAIRSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A Wadesville man is accused of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash.
Indiana State Police said authorities responded to a crash Wednesday night on North Stierley Rd., south of Blairsville.
Authorities said 32-year-old Michael Fuhs, of Wadesville, was driving his pickup truck north on the road when he drove left of center and sideswiped an SUV going south.
The driver of the SUV lost control and ended up in a ditch, authorities said. She was sent to the hospital where she was treated and released for minor injuries.
According to ISP, Fuhs did not stop.
Following the crash, another driver noticed the truck had significant damage and was traveling at a high rate of speed.
The driver followed the truck to a residence before returning south and finding the crash.
Due to the damage to Fuhs’ vehicle, ISP said the driver’s side tire left a gouge mark on the roadway from the scene all the way to his residence approximately two miles away.
ISP said Fuhs had a blood alcohol content of .16%.
He was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.
