Man accused of shooting into crowd agrees to plead guilty

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville man accused of shooting into a crowd and hitting one person agreed to plead guilty.

Raivone Mathis was scheduled to go on trial in Vanderburgh Superior Court, but instead, he notified the judge he intends to plead guilty.

He is due back in court on October 7.

Police said Mathis fired into a crowd of people on Madison Ave. on May 23.

One person was shot in the hip during the incident.

That person was treated for injuries.
