EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – According to a police affidavit, a man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an Evansville car dealership.

Thomas Jeremy White faces charges of forgery, check deception, and theft.

White is accused of using company funds from Neuhoff Auto Sales, without approval, for personal work done to his vehicle and for mortgage payments.

Steve Neuhoff of Neuhoff Auto Sales released this statement Monday afternoon:

“Unfortunately, I have been instructed by my attorney to not make any comments while this case is pending. Ultimately all the facts will come out when the process runs its due course, but until that time, I will not be making any further comments. Thank you.”

Neuhoff Auto Sales spokesperson Nick Byers released this statement to Eyewitness News on Monday morning:

“For 25 years our bosses have been in business and have always done right by people. This is a sad situation and it is unfortunate that someone would allegedly take advantage of Mr. and Mrs. Neuhoff. We are not in the business of publicly bashing people. We are confident in the Vanderburgh County prosecutor and his team and are certain that the matter will take its proper course.”
