Man accused of trying to break into Greenville residence, firing shotgun from woods

GREENVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) – Two people were arrested in connection with an attempted burglary investigation on South Main St. Monday.

Police said Mark Clinton Johnson, 41, tried to unlawfully enter a family member’s residence and ran from the scene.

According to police, Johnson ran into a wooded area behind the house and fired shots from a shotgun before authorities arrived on the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Police said they found Johnson and 42-year-old Misty A. Neal near the Greenville Water Treatment Plant.

Johnson was arrested on charges of attempted burglary, alcohol intoxication, fleeing/evading police on foot, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Neal was arrested for fleeing/evading police on foot.
