BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- 37-year-old Joshua Taylor was arrested Thursday following a chase with police that reportedly ended with Taylor crashing into a light pole and a building on the 200 block of W. Locust Street in Boonville.

The chase started when police say an officer noticed a car with improper registration and tried to stop the car when the driver pulled into a McDonald’s parking lot. Taylor reportedly drove around the restaurant twice before pulling out again, going 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Authorities say Taylor nearly hit another car but swerved out of the way and lost control of the car. The car slid through a post office parking lot before hitting a light pole and a business. None of the people inside the business were reportedly injured. Police say Taylor tried to put the car in reverse but the vehicle was “disabled” by the crash.

Police arrested Taylor and charged him with criminal recklessness, resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia, reckless driving, and driving while suspended.
