Man arrested following traffic stop

HARTFORD, Ky. (WEHT)- The Kentucky State Police announced 21-year-old Tyrus Action was charged with several drug felonies following a traffic stop near Hartford.

According to a press release, a Kentucky State trooper conducted a traffic stop after noticing a car going 90 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone. The trooper reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the car and troopers located three pounds of marijuana and 12 ounces of codeine.

The passenger in the car, a juvenile, reportedly had a stolen handgun, a “large” amount of cash, and digital scales.

Action was charged with trafficking marijuana, possessing and trafficking a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, permitting a minor to possess a handgun, speeding, operating a vehicle under the influence, and an unlawful transaction with a minor.
