Crews have removed a vehicle from the Ohio River in downtown Evansville Thursday morning.
Around 4:00 a.m. emergency crews responded to Wabash Avenue where a driver and his SUV went into the river.
Authorities said an ambulance crew was on their way to a separate run when they saw the SUV go into the water.
Crews also tell Eyewitness News the SUV was driving the wrong way on the Lloyd Expressway before the crash.
The driver has been pulled from the water, and is said to have a back injury. He has been taken to the hospital.
Crews were able to get the SUV out of the water just after 6:00 a.m.
