Man Sentenced for Damaging Memorial Day Cross Display

The man accused of driving through a Memorial Day cross display in Henderson’s Central Park has been sentenced.

Anthony Burrus, 27, is sentenced to 3 years for criminal mischief and 12 months for leaving the scene of an accident.

Both sentences will run at the same time.

Police say Burrus damaged 160 crosses set up for Memorial Day.

Each one represented a Henderson County resident who served our country.

Of those crosses, 20 were destroyed.
